The men’s Contra Black Lycra is part of the Contra line, the world’s top men’s standard ballroom shoe line, known for it’s flexibility, comfort, and style. The Lycra material is light and soft and often worn when practicing and teaching, although many dancers will Lyrca in competition or performance because the Lycra material stretches to move with the dancer. The Contra Black Lycra retains it’s shape, and resists the stretching that often occurs with leather.

The Contra is a classic style with a great deal of modern innovation. It was the first split-sole standard shoe available and was engineered under the guidance of the world’s top professional and amateur ballroom dancers. It’s lightweight and features specially developed arch padding which helps with foot alignment and comfort. Padding under the heel cushions each step and gel padding runs all the way through the insole. The Contra is also available in AirMesh, black leather, and black patent, and a Pro version in black patent.
